Signing in
Iron WatchDog accounts are created for you by an administrator at your own company. There is no sign-up screen in the app or on the console, and we cannot create an account for you directly — the organization that owns the rigs controls who has access to their data.
If you do not have a login yet, ask your supervisor or your company's Iron WatchDog administrator to set one up. If you are not sure who that is, email us and we will point you to the right person.
I never received my six-digit sign-in code
Every sign-in sends a one-time code to your work email address. If it has not arrived:
- Wait a full minute — delivery is usually instant but can lag.
- Check your junk or spam folder, and any quarantine your company's mail filter uses.
- Confirm the email address on your account is the one you can actually read. Your administrator can check and correct this.
- Ask your IT team to allow mail from our sending domain if your company filters aggressively.
Still nothing? Email info@ironwatchdog.com with your name and company and we will check whether the code was sent.
I forgot my password
Use the password reset link on the sign-in screen of the web console. A reset link goes to your work email. Once you have set a new password it works in both the console and the mobile app.
If the reset email does not arrive, follow the steps in the question above — it is the same delivery path.
The app says I have no access
Your credentials were accepted but your account is not yet assigned to a rig, a crew, or a role. That assignment is made by your company's administrator, not by us. Ask them to confirm your role and the rigs you should see.
Can I share one login with my crew?
Please don't. Scorecards, shift history, and coaching are all tied to the individual, so a shared login produces a blended record that is useful to nobody. Ask your administrator to create an account for each person — there is no per-seat charge for additional users on a rig you already have under subscription.
The mobile app
| Requires | iPhone running iOS 16.4 or later |
| Cost | Free to download. Access requires an active Iron WatchDog subscription held by your organization — there is nothing to buy inside the app |
| Sign-in | Work email and password, plus a one-time code emailed to you |
| Data use | Light. The app fetches shift summaries, not raw second-by-second telemetry |
Face ID or Touch ID is not unlocking the app
Check the following, in order:
- Face ID or Touch ID must be set up in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode before the app can use it.
- Iron WatchDog must be allowed to use it — check Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Other Apps.
- If your face or fingerprint fails three times, iOS falls back to your device passcode. That is expected iOS behavior, not a fault in the app.
You can always sign in with your password instead. Biometric unlock is a convenience on top of that, and your biometric data never leaves your iPhone.
My last shift is missing, or the numbers look wrong
Shift data reaches the app only after it has been uploaded from the rig and processed. On a rig with intermittent connectivity that can lag — the on-rig console stores data locally and forwards it when a connection returns, so a shift may appear hours after it ended.
If a shift is still missing a day later, or a figure looks clearly wrong, email info@ironwatchdog.com with the rig number, the date and shift, and what you expected to see. That is enough for us to trace it.
The app is slow, blank, or will not load
Pull down to refresh first. If that does not help, sign out and sign back in — that clears the local cache and fetches everything fresh. If it persists, delete and reinstall the app; your data lives on the server, so nothing is lost.
Still stuck? Tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you see. A screenshot helps more than a description.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email info@ironwatchdog.com. For a bug, tell us what you did, what happened, and what you expected — plus your rig number and the time it happened, so we can find it in the logs. For a feature request, tell us the problem you are trying to solve rather than the solution you have in mind; it usually leads somewhere better.
Rigs and hardware
A rig has stopped reporting
The on-rig console shows its own connection status. Common causes are a lost cellular or satellite link, a console that has been powered down, or a disconnected sensor harness after a move. The console keeps recording locally through an outage and uploads when the link returns, so data is rarely lost.
If the console itself is dark or showing a fault, call us at +1 801 580 7444 — that one is worth a phone call rather than an email.
We are moving a rig or adding a new one
Let us know before the move. We will make sure the rig's records follow it to the new project and that nothing is misattributed. For a new rig, contact us about installation — the retrofit is designed to fit any rig type, and we handle the hardware and commissioning.
Data, privacy, and account requests
Drilling data collected on your rigs belongs to your organization, not to Iron WatchDog. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what we hold, who processes it on our behalf, and how long we keep it.
To ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email info@ironwatchdog.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We acknowledge within 10 business days.
To delete your account: because accounts are provisioned by your employer as part of their subscription, ask your organization's Iron WatchDog administrator to remove it — or email us and we will coordinate the removal with them.
Not a customer yet?
This page is for people who already use Iron WatchDog. If you are looking into instrumenting your rigs, start on the main site or reach us through the contact form — we will get you to the right person rather than into a support queue.
